Water Tower Gräfrath
In 1992 the water tower at the Fauna in Solingen was protected from demolition by Johannes Dinnebier. It was subsequently transformed into a light studio. The old tower top was replaced by a heated steel-glass construction. The folded construction gives the tower an unique appearance and fulfills the requirement of preservation of the monuments and preserving the silhouette of the tower. The glazed interior is used for concerts and lectures. In the tower shaft, the installation of radial steel ceilings creates small offices and secondary rooms. In 1999, Johannes Dinnebier received Solingen Culture price for the project.
