Venice Biennale
2014 the Turkish Pavilion at the Biennale was inaugurated with the exhibition Places of Memory. With this space the turkish approach to architecture and urbanism was presented at the Venice Biennale International Architecture Exhibition. Curated by Murat Tabanlıoglu, 6 works of artists with the topic « 100 years of Turkish architecture » were shown on two parallel black walls. The tight spaces in between them were dedicated to the Atatürk Cultural Center by the architect Hayati TabanlıoÄŸlu showing its changing history, mentioning the lighting designed by Johannes Dinnebier. The lighting concept highlights the pictures with cold white light using narrow beam LED track spots.
