Deutsche Oper
The opera house in Bismarckstrasse was build in 1961 by the architect Fritz Bornemann and it impresses with its clear shapes and the spacious appearance of the foyer. Within the 50 years of existence the lighting was reconstructed and complemented several times and therefore it was a collection of luminaires of various types. The new lighting design concept for the renewal of the lighting concept of the foyer is based on the resumption of the architectural character from 1961. Its elegance is created exceeding restraint in usage of visual elements. The objective of the lighting design concept was to hide and integrate the luminaires as much as possible. The light’s only purpose is to support the existing architecture as well as to illuminate the visitors moving through the space.
