Main Forte Trumpf

In 2008 for the expansion of the campus for the company "Trumpf" in Dizingen, Barkow Leibinger architects designed a new gatehouse that visualizes the metalworking technology of the company to the outside. The 32-meter-long slender roof cantilevering twenty meters out over the entrance amazes the users with its laser-cut aluminum bottom. The open fields of the metal roof follow the static requirements and have been illuminated with LEDs. The greenish backlighting emphasizes the lightness of the roof, which is suggested by the enormous cantilever. The lighting of the functional core is the focus of the double facades with the acrylic tubes stacked in between.
